C5BDI connects USAF and Eden Prairie, MN small business for an AFWERX SBIR Phase II. There are three main focus areas for the effort to support USAF’s Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) program including 1) selecting surrogate maintenance data, 2) developing algorithms for prediction, and 3) demonstrating proof of concept for the way ahead in Phase III. The key research question that will be addressed in the work is how to apply Machine Learning to improve the encoding and processing of narrative text for the prediction of Work Unit Codes (WUCs) using surrogate data.
