Continuing our tradition of giving back on a monthly basis to our community…In January C5BDI donated to the Boy Scouts of America (via a local troop in Hampton Roads, VA). This donation included an amazing opportunity to spend breakfast with and listening to the famous Dr. Julius Erving (“Dr. J.”). A few C5BDI employees were able to ask Dr. J. a couple of questions during the event and snagged these photos (pictured: Brad Roberts, John Ensey, Kristi Anderson and Dr. J. of course) – photos courtesy of Erica Robertson Photography http://ericarobertson.photodeck.com/ It’s not every day that you get to meet Dr. J.! Dr. J. won three championships, four MVP awards and is the 8th highest scorer in ABA/NBA history. He also gets to judge the slam dunk contest at the NBA All Star Break ever year which he talked about in his speech and clearly enjoys! It was a great event and for a wonderful cause! The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations, providing programs for young people that build character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. For more than 100 years, Boy Scouts of America has helped build future leaders by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun.
