Our pay it forward, C5BDI giveback continues! Our team recently committed resources and funding to support St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital (St. Jude). Thank you very much to Colton Watkins from our team for recommending such an outstanding cause. St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases – no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay!! As St. Jude’s doctors work tirelessly to find cures, all treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80%. That said, St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, which means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Cancer survival rates on the rise, thanks in part to St. Jude, today has led to 94% survival rate for blood cancer patients, 85% for those with brain tumors, 75% for surving solid tumors, and 70% recovery for those who suffered from bone cancer. Of the 175,000 cases of childhood cancer diagnosed each year, more than 90% of children who die from cancer, live in #developing countries. While the survival rates do not yield the same outcome for every child, St. Jude is eternally committed: “We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.”
