Our pay it forward, C5BDI giveback continues! Our team recently committed resources and funding to support HALOS in South Carolina. Thank you very much to Melaina Murray from our team for recommending such an outstanding cause. When parents die or are not able to care for their children safely, relatives or family friends often step in to raise the child or children. This is kinship care. Over 69,000 (6%) of South Carolina’s children live in kinship care, and 64,000 children live in grandparent-headed households. The HALOS organization helps these children and their kinship caregivers in Charleston, Berkely and Dorchester Counties. Through a variety of programs and initiatives, they improve the lives of these children.
