Our pay it forward, C5BDI giveback continues! Our team recently committed resources and funding to support Team Hoyt VB. Team Hoyt VB remains the premiere running inclusion foundation of it’s kind and hosts riders and athletes in over 30 runs a year—including 5k’s, marathons, half marathons and now triathlons! This organization is a sub-chapter of The Hoyt Foundation, founded by Dick and Rick Hoyt. Rick was born in 1962 to Dick and Judy Hoyt, and was diagnosed as a spastic quadriplegic with cerebral palsy. In 1977, the father and son completed their first of many races. Dick pushed Rick in a custom made wheelchair where Rick says he “feels like I’m not handicapped.” Others grew interest, such as Trey White, a local dentist with Oceanfront Dentistry in Virginia Beach, after finding out his daughter, Katie White, had Prader Willi Syndrome. After a conversation with Team Hoyt Foundation the sub-chapter in VB developed. Of course, we thank team-member, Amanda Brown, for recommending this great cause!
